| In 2004, Tesco entered Chinese market by founding a 50:50 partnership with Ting Hsin International Group, which operated 25 Hymall stores then. In 2006, we have reshaped the partnership by increasing our stake from 50% to 90%. We are continually growing our business in our 3 focused regions of the East, including Shanghai; the North, including Beijing; and the South, including Guangzhou. At the beginning of 2008, we completed re-branding our existing stores to Tesco Legou. By the end of October 2008, we have a total of 58 hypermarkets in China to offer our customers pleasant shopping trips. |
